Exposing aid fraud

At the heart of Aid Alert will be a powerful combination - investigative journalism, a voice for aid recipients in developing countries, and a safe place for whistleblowers.  Aid Alert will:

  • make a clear, positive contribution to foreign aid and developing countries
  • create an advocacy group to highlight aid fraud and mismanagement with governments, stakeholders, the media and the public.
  • provide a point of contact between whistleblowers and investigative journalists
  • create a resource on aid fraud and corruption, for journalists and the public
  • open a public forum for discussion between aid recipients and donors
  • monitor and report back on charities and humanitarian aid, and how aid money is used,  especially in natural disasters and conflict zones
  • raise awareness of hot money, tax avoidance, transfer pricing and money laundering schemes, where possible with specific examples
  • research and report on the methods, extent and impact of aid fraud and corruption
  • publish reports on specific cases of fraud, corruption and serious mismanagement
  • point the finger where necessary, but always highlight good practice

This is a good tool especially in Kenya where money keeps on getting lost, feed me on this a lot and looking for partnership opportunities to expose fraud
